dataschalt developes a Solar Module

On behalf of the company Coalesenses GmbH dataschalt developed the iSense Solar Module. This module enhances an existing funk sensor system and enables the self-powered sensor nodes to operate autonomous for many years.
It consists of a solar panel and a ultra-high capacity lithium ion rechargeable battery. Additionally to the solar panel the system can get supplied by a power supply unit or a USB interface, which could also be used to programm the system.

Whenever possible the solar panel supplies the power to the system. If there is not enough solar power, the battery supplies the power. Otherwise, if the panel can deliver more power than the sensor node requires, it charges the lithium ion battery.

Because of the optimised design the iSense Module was minimised thus far that it fits into a matchbox.
